Pedestrian dead after Houston hit-and-run crash

HOUSTON — Authorities were searching Saturday for a driver who struck and killed a pedestrian in northwest Harris County.

The victim, identified as Diana DeLeon, was walking east along the inside lane of West Mount Houston when she was struck by a small black sedan.

The car left the scene and traveled east on West Mount Houston. DeLeon died at the scene, and the driver has not been found. The roadway was closed for hours after the Houston auto accident as deputies investigated the incident.

Houston authorities say the automobile should have noticeable damage and urge anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
